Our Learnathon was a code-learning marathon open to all high school and CEGEP students, who are looking to get into coding and want to find a community of peers to learn together.
The event was entirely be hosted on a Discord community, where you had access to a variety of workshops throughout the month, from technical ones like our "Introduction to Dockers" to non-technical workshops like exploring a future "Studying Computer Science at University".

What is the Learnathon?
Our Learnathon is a code-learning marathon open to all high school and CEGEP students, who are looking to get into coding and want to find a community of peers to learn together.
I’m interested in hosting a workshop!
If you are an experienced programmer who loves hosting workshops and helping others, we would love to have you at our Learnathon. Please fill out the following form.
Do I have to attend all workshops at the Learnathon?
No, but participation in these workshops is highly encouraged as they will open your eyes to various interesting fields of coding that you may not have thought about before (ex.: art, video games, apps, websites, startups, etc.). Participants who take part in more workshops will get rewarded with participation prizes.
Do I need to know how to code?
No coding experience is required! In fact, this event is tailored towards beginners, the workshops are extremely beginner-friendly and move on to more advanced topics as the weeks progress.
When will applications close?
Since this is a month long event, we will be keeping applications open until the last day of the event. Since it is an online event, we accept everyone, but to prevent people from cheating and participating unfairly in the Discord server, we require participants to fill the survey before joining the server.
How much does it cost?
Nothing! The workshops are entirely free and accessible to all high school and CEGEP students who have signed up for the event.
Who can apply?
If you are currently a high School or CEGEP student, you are eligible to apply! We will post the workshops on YouTube after the live sessions are done, so anyone else can access them later on.
How do the prizes work?
We will take note of the participants who present themselves to the most events and reward them with prizes at the end of the Learnathon. We will also give away random prizes throughout the event (for those who stay active in the server) and after any activities that have been organized.
